Mignon R. Moore is the Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Sociology at Barnard College. Her research focuses on the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and aging, particularly within LGBTQ communities and African American populations. She holds leadership roles including Vice President of the American Sociological Association (2022-2024) and has received multiple awards recognizing her contributions to sociology and social justice.

Research Interests: Dr. Moore examines how structural positions like race and class shape life chances, with a focus on qualitative methods. Her book Invisible Families explores Black women's lesbian identities and family-building. Her current work traces the sociocultural history of Black sexual minority women (1950-1979).
