معرفی
Dr. Mieke Donk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research focuses on visual attention, oculomotor selection, and the interplay between salience-driven and goal-driven processes in visual perception. She has published extensively on topics such as saccade behavior, eccentricity effects in attentional capture, and the neural mechanisms underlying attentional priority maps.
Donk’s work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in advancing knowledge of human cognition and behavior. Her research employs methodologies such as eye-tracking and neuroimaging to explore how attentional biases and priority maps influence visual selection. She teaches courses including 'Introduction Psychology' and 'Review Paper,' and supervises PhD theses in cognitive psychology.
Her recent studies highlight eccentricity-dependent attentional biases, the transient nature of salience-driven selection, and the role of statistical regularities in modulating attentional control. Donk is actively involved in editorial work for journals like Cognition and serves on academic committees within the field of cognitive psychology.
