Mick Mellors

Dr. Mick Mellors serves as a Visiting Knowledge Transfer Fellow at Oxford Brookes University. With a background in social work, management, and a doctorate, he specializes in adult services, health-social care integration, and commissioning. He advises on service transformation, change management, and commissioning activities for local authorities and NHS bodies in England and Wales.

Previously, he worked for NICE as a professional social care advisor and held roles in local authorities and the NHS. Since 2014, he has been an associate consultant at the Institute of Public Care (IPC), contributing to research, training programs, and consultancy projects. His expertise spans commissioning frameworks, leadership development, and policy implementation, including the Social Care and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014.

Mellors' academic engagement includes supporting IPC’s accredited courses and collaborating with the University’s postgraduate programs. His work emphasizes practical solutions for complex health and social care challenges, combining clinical, managerial, and policy perspectives.
