Micchiko Kealoha is an Adjunct Professor (part-time) in Human Rights Education at the University of San Francisco. She holds leadership roles as Director of the NASPA Community College Division, President of the California Community Colleges Student Affairs Association, and Director of Marketing/Public Relations for the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival Queen Program. Her work bridges activism, education, and community-building through storytelling and social justice advocacy.
Dr. Kealoha earned an Ed.D. in International & Multicultural Education (2022), MA in Educational Administration (2011), and BA in English/Film (2009). Her research focuses on human rights pedagogy, social movement strategies, and arts-based counter-narratives to challenge systemic inequities in community colleges.
Her publications address post-pandemic institutional resilience, anti-racist leadership, and creative expression as tools for social change. Notable awards include being named a TedX speaker (2020) and receiving the San Mateo County Above & Beyond Award (2018).
Kealoha's work emphasizes collaboration across sectors, leveraging her roles in academia, nonprofit leadership, and cultural programming to advance educational equity and community empowerment.
