معرفی
Michelle Trevenen is a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the School of Physics, Maths and Computing, The University of Western Australia. Her statistical expertise directly supports medical research addressing Sustainable Development Goals for health and well-being, with active collaborations across clinical disciplines.
Her research spans Applied Statistics, Epidemiology, and Medical Statistics, specializing in biometric analysis for complex health datasets. Key focus areas include antimicrobial stewardship in pediatrics, β-lactam allergy diagnostics, dementia risk prediction in aging populations, and environmental health impacts like plastic exposure. Her methodological toolkit features cohort analysis, proportional hazards modeling, and randomized controlled trial design.
Recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward translational medical research, particularly in high-impact clinical studies such as the PERTH trial on plastic exposure and cardiometabolic risk, and investigations into antibiotic allergy management. These works consistently employ interdisciplinary collaboration between statisticians and clinicians to solve urgent healthcare challenges.
Dr. Trevenen actively contributes to the Elderly Trauma Outcome Predictor (ETOP) study (2025-2026), a RAINE GRANT-funded project examining trauma outcomes in elderly populations. This work has garnered significant attention including coverage by 4 news outlets and academic discussion across 9 Mendeley readers.
