Dr. Michelle Feider is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Archaeology at the University of York, specializing in zooarchaeology. She focuses on small mammals and herpetofauna as bioproxies to study human activities, sedentism, diet, disease epidemics, and human-mediated dispersal patterns.

- PhD in Zooarchaeology (Bournemouth University, 2017–2022)
Her research combines traditional zooarchaeological methods with advanced techniques like Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS), ancient DNA analysis, and stable isotope dating to investigate the intertwined history of humans and animals. She currently works on the UKRI-funded RATTUS Project, examining rats, urbanism, and disease in European societies.
