Michelle Devlin is an Honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences and serves as Science Theme Lead at the Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (CEFAS). Her research focuses on coastal/marine ecosystems, eutrophication, water quality monitoring, and pollutant impacts across freshwater-coastal-marine interfaces. She advises policymakers on environmental management strategies and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water).
Key research areas include catchment management, eutrophication vulnerability assessment, and the application of remote sensing tools for seagrass mapping and pollution tracking. Collaborations span international institutions and involve multidisciplinary approaches to environmental challenges.
Her recent work emphasizes innovative methods like probabilistic riverine discharge modeling and Forel-Ule index applications. She also investigates toxic contaminants in Pacific island regions using passive samplers and Microtox assays.
