Dr Michelle Collins is a Research Fellow (PHIRST) and Senior Research Associate at Lancaster University's Department of Health Research within the Faculty of Health and Medicine. Her work focuses on qualitative methodologies and participatory approaches to address health inequities and social determinants of health. Since 2009, she has contributed to projects emphasizing health equity, community engagement, and empowerment, including co-developing the Public Involvement Impact Assessment Framework (PiiAF). She currently participates in NIHR PHIRST LilaC and the Centre for Health Inequalities Research.
Her research spans topics like power dynamics in health decision-making, pandemic responses, and place-based interventions. She actively engages in public outreach through initiatives like 'Let's Talk About Power' festivals and workshops aimed at fostering knowledge co-production and mobilization networks.
