Michelle Clark is a Lecturer in the English department at San Francisco State University (SF State), where she teaches courses such as English 114, 104/105, 214, and 216. She also instructs at other colleges in the Bay Area. Clark holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Writing emphasis from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in English Literature with a Rhetoric and Composition emphasis from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Her teaching philosophy focuses on collaborative, growth-oriented grading systems that assess student progress over time rather than individual assignment performance. She emphasizes fostering anxiety-free learning environments through innovative pedagogy. Beyond academia, Clark enjoys reading, writing, exercise, and spending time with her dog Mr. Moose and attending live music events.
