Michelle Cheramy serves as Associate Dean of the School of Music and Professor of Flute at Memorial University of Newfoundland. A renowned flutist, her career spans performance, teaching, and research. She holds degrees from the University of British Columbia (B.Mus.), Indiana University (M.M.), and Rice University (D.M.A.).

Her research focuses on 18th-21st century flute repertoire, including critical studies of André Jolivet’s late works. As a performer, she is celebrated for her interpretations across eras, with solo appearances in Canada, the U.S., and Russia. She has been featured on CBC Radio programs and holds leadership roles in music organizations, including the National Flute Association and Flutist Quarterly editorial board.
