Dr. Michelle Beattie serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Highlands and Islands, where she has pioneered innovative quality improvement (QI) curriculum for nursing students across over 200 clinical placement areas in Scotland. Her work has created more than 1,250 change agents through student-led QI projects, significantly advancing QI pedagogy and healthcare improvement.
Her educational background includes a PhD focused on 'Measuring Patient Experience of Hospital Quality of Care,' which led to the development of the Care Experience Feedback Improvement Tool (CEFIT). This tool is implemented in teaching and adopted by healthcare providers nationally.
