Dr. Michelle Asbill is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Asbury University. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2017) and multiple master's degrees including European Union Studies, Intercultural Studies, and Social Work. Her research focuses on human trafficking, criminal justice reform, hospital social work, and community development, with a regional emphasis on Eastern Europe. She has lived and worked in Bulgaria for 3.5 years, contributing to community development projects and conducting fieldwork on human trafficking dynamics.
