Dr. Michele Victoria is a Lecturer and Course Leader for the Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management undergraduate programme at Robert Gordon University's Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment. She leads the Energy, Environment and Sustainability research group and holds significant professional positions including Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. Her academic work bridges teaching, research, and professional practice in sustainable construction.
Dr. Victoria earned her PhD in Carbon Management in the Built Environment from Northumbria University (2013-2017), a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from the University of Moratuwa (2008-2012), and a PGCert in Academic Practice from Robert Gordon University (2017-2019). Her educational background reflects her dual expertise in construction management and sustainability principles.
Her research focuses on critical sustainability challenges in the built environment, particularly embodied carbon management, circular economy implementation, and water resource efficiency in construction. Dr. Victoria has developed parametric prediction models for early-stage carbon estimation in buildings and investigates resource management across global contexts, with specific case studies in India and Scotland. Her pedagogical research examines sustainable curriculum development for built environment education.
Analysis of her publication record shows consistent output in high-impact journals and conferences, with recent emphasis on practical applications of circular economy principles, embodied resource management, and sustainability education. Her work demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between environmental science, construction management, and educational theory.

Dr. Victoria currently supervises five PhD students researching diverse sustainability topics across global contexts. Her research portfolio includes externally funded projects on affordable housing, urban wellbeing, and sustainable construction practices, demonstrating strong grant acquisition capabilities and policy-relevant research output.
As Energy, Environment and Sustainability research group lead, Dr. Victoria coordinates research activities focused on carbon management, circular economy, and sustainable construction practices. Her group collaborates with industry stakeholders and government bodies to translate research into practical applications and policy recommendations, particularly through her current Scottish Government-funded project on circular economy in the residential sector.
