Rafiu Seidu

Rafiu Seidu is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director for Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying) at London South Bank University. With over 25 years of industry experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, he specializes in cost assurance, project delivery, and infrastructure procurement. He holds Chartered memberships in Cost Engineering, Construction Management, and Civil Engineering. His research focuses on construction project management, cost control, and mega-infrastructure challenges, contributing to policy reforms such as the House of Commons Transport Committee Report (2021).

Education: PhD ongoing since 2020. Professional Affiliations: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Chartered Cost Engineer (MAcostE), Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB), and Chartered Civil Engineer Surveyor (MCInstCES).

Research Interests: Commercial Management, Procurement Techniques, Construction Contracting, Cost Overrun Mitigation, and Sustainable Infrastructure Development. He is part of the IDoBE Research Centre and the Construction Management research group at LSBU.

External Activities: External Examiner at Sheffield Hallam University, Links Tutor at the University of Chichester, and reviewer for journals like the International Journal of Building Pathology and Adaptation. He has presented at international conferences and co-authored over 30 research outputs.

Labs/Teams: Member of the Integrated Delivery of the Built Environment (IDoBE) research centre, focusing on collaborative construction practices and policy advocacy.
