Cameron Beard is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle. He holds a Master of Building (Research) and a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours). With over 18 years of industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor, he transitioned to academia in 2019. His research focuses on improving decision-making in cost planning through economic theory, building on his theses exploring ICT adoption barriers and BIM implementation. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), contributing to professional accreditation processes. He coordinates courses such as ARBE6610 Project Management Principles and ARBE3309 Measurement of Building Works 2.
