Dr. Michele Moscicki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at MacEwan University, where she has been since 2018. She holds a PhD from the University of Alberta and has extensive teaching experience, including five years as a sessional instructor there. Her research interests bridge stress physiology, pedagogy, and animal behavior. She explores how stress-coping interventions and student perceptions of stress influence learning outcomes, alongside studying instructor-student rapport and effective teaching strategies.
Dr. Moscicki's academic background includes research on stress effects in non-human animals, particularly convict cichlids (using field studies in Nicaragua, where she earned her SCUBA certification) and chickadees. Her work integrates lab and field-based studies to understand behavioral and neural responses to stress. She teaches courses such as Introductory Psychology, Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, and a special topics course on the Biology of Stress and Coping.

Her research has been recognized through awards including the Associate Dean of Learning and Innovation Besties (AD-LIB) from the University of Alberta (2018) and the NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship (2009–2011). Dr. Moscicki is available to supervise senior students’ independent study projects.
