Michele Masucci is an Assistant Professor in writing and artistic research at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. He concurrently pursues two PhDs: one in critical theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (expected 2025) and another in medical science at Karolinska Institutet (expected 2025). His educational background includes a Bachelor's in philosophy from Södertörn University and advanced degrees in fine arts and art/architecture from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
His research “Territories of Imagination: The Republic of Maschito” explores intersections between artistic practices and political movements, rooted in the 1943 anti-fascist revolt in Maschito, Italy. Masucci’s work bridges performative art, care practices, and collective organizing, reflected in exhibitions like “A Careful Strike” at Mint Konsthall and lectures such as his 2024 presentation at Stockholm University of the Arts.
Recent academic activities include curatorial work, conference contributions on social issues, and pedagogical roles at institutions like Konstfack. His interdisciplinary approach merges art, critical theory, and medical science to address socio-political themes.
