Professor Michele Grossman AM holds the Research Chair in Diversity and Community Resilience at Deakin University's Alfred Deakin Institute. She co-convenes the AVERT Research Network and directs the Centre for Resilient and Inclusive Societies (CRIS), focusing on community contributions to countering violent extremism.
Her research examines how communities build resilience against violent extremism through bystander reporting mechanisms, youth resilience measurement, and cross-cultural trust relations. Recent projects include international studies on intimate bystander reporting thresholds in Canada, the UK, and Australia.
Publications demonstrate methodological innovation in terrorism research ethics, mixed-methods approaches to extremist discourse analysis, and arts-based interventions for radicalization prevention.
