Dr. Michele Gill is a Professor and Academic Program Coordinator in the Department of Learning Sciences and Educational Research at the University of Central Florida (UCF), within the College of Community Innovation and Education. She coordinates the EdD in Curriculum and Instruction program and is a leading scholar in teacher beliefs, conceptual change, and school transformation. Her work includes founding the Galileo School for Gifted Learning, an award-winning charter school in Seminole County.
Dr. Gill holds a Ph.D. and M.A.E. in Educational Psychology from the University of Florida. Her research has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the APA’s Distinguished Contributions Award (2022), UCF Luminary Award (2022), and APA Division 15 Fellowship (2021). She has authored influential books like *Millennials’ Guide to K-12 Education* and co-edited the *International Handbook of Research on Teachers’ Beliefs*.
Her research focuses on bridging theory and practice in education, emphasizing teacher development, youth engagement, and systemic educational reform. She has contributed to journals such as Journal of Educational Psychology and served on editorial boards for key educational psychology publications.
Dr. Gill’s awards also include recognition for teaching excellence through UCF’s Teaching Incentive Program. Her work integrates empirical research with practical initiatives to improve educational outcomes for diverse student populations, particularly in underserved communities.
