Michele Dunleavy is a Professor of Dance at the School of Theatre, Pennsylvania State University. She has been a key figure in the university’s musical theater program since 2004 and was named the 2024-25 Penn State Laureate, an honor recognizing her contributions to the arts and humanities. Her work bridges dance, community engagement, and inclusivity.
Her research interests include choreography that explores social themes, such as the Steel Valley Rhythms project, which intertwines Pennsylvania’s industrial heritage with dance and memory.
