Michel Vetterli is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Simon Fraser University (SFU). His research focuses on experimental particle physics, including high-energy proton-proton collisions (ATLAS at CERN), nucleon spin physics (HERMES at DESY), and high-performance computing through the ATLAS Tier-1 Data Centre and WestGrid initiatives. He holds a B.Sc. from McGill University and a Ph.D. from McMaster University.
Research activities are centered in the High Energy Physics Group, collaborating with international facilities like CERN and DESY. He advises current M.Sc. candidate Alex Bunka and collaborates with Research Associate Javier Llorente Merino. Though not currently teaching, he contributes to SFU's physics graduate programs and research infrastructure.
Key facilities associated with his work include the ATLAS Tier-1 Data Centre, leveraging advanced computing resources for analyzing collision data. His expertise bridges theoretical predictions with experimental validation in fundamental physics questions.
