Michel Habib is a Professor of Finance at the University of Zurich and a member of the Swiss Finance Institute. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor at the London Business School and as Director of the NCCR FINRISK. He holds graduate degrees from McGill University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on corporate finance, organizational theory, and financial intermediation, with contributions to journals like the Journal of Finance and Review of Financial Studies. He has supervised numerous PhD, MA, and BA theses since 2007. His work explores topics ranging from managerial discretion and sovereign debt sustainability to reinsurance mechanisms and entrepreneurial behavior. He is a Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research and the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. His teaching includes courses on intermediate corporate finance.
