Professor Neelam Jain is a faculty member at City St George's, University of London, where she holds the position of Professor in the Department of Economics within the College of Business. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1995 and has previously taught at the University of Virginia, Rice University, and the University of Auckland.
Her research lies at the intersection of microeconomic theory, game theory, industrial organization, and financial economics. Key areas of interest include asymmetric information, financial intermediation, entry deterrence, managerial incentives, and dynamic contracting. She has made significant contributions to econometric methodology, particularly in demand estimation without instrumental variables.
Her recent publications show a strong trend in empirical and theoretical work on differentiated products models, Bayesian estimation of dynamic discrete choice, and the role of debt and information in corporate finance.
