Michel HAVET is a Professor at ONIRIS and Deputy Director of the GEPEA research unit (UMR CNRS 6144), where he has worked since 1995. He initially joined as a Lecturer at ENITIAA (later integrated into ONIRIS) before becoming a full Professor in 2008. His leadership extends to coordinating the OSE research team and steering institutional research strategy.
His research centers on optimizing energy use in food processing, with emphasis on:
- Intensifying heat/mass transfers in convective systems
- Thermodynamic efficiency in agri-food applications
- Aerodynamics in industrial food environments
He maintains significant professional engagements:
- Co-lead of SFT's 'Applied Thermal Engineering – Agri-food' group
- French delegate to EHEDG's Air Handling division
- Member of IIR's Food Science Commission
Within GEPEA's OSE team, he advances experimental and computational studies focused on process optimization for health and environmental impact.
