Michalis Polychronakis

Michalis Polychronakis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University, affiliated with the National Security Institute. He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Crete, Greece, where he worked at the Distributed Computing Systems Lab at FORTH-ICS. Prior to Stony Brook, he was an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University.

His research focuses on enhancing network and systems security, developing defenses against malicious software and online threats, reinforcing online privacy, and analyzing the internet ecosystem's vulnerabilities.
