Michael Trikić

Dr Michael Trikić is a teaching specialist at the University of Sheffield, affiliated with the School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Holding a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and an MEd in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, he focuses on biomaterials, bioengineering, and pedagogical innovation. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and actively teaches biomedical engineering and materials science students from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.

His research interests span pedagogy and teaching scholarship, inclusive engineering, 3D in vitro models of collagen-mediated diseases, and molecular biology. Dr Trikić has supervised final-year undergraduate projects and contributed to PhD research through 3D cell culture models. He previously managed technical operations at the University of Sheffield Diamond Engineering and currently serves as a Year-in-Industry Tutor. Professional memberships include the Biomedical Engineering Society and leadership roles in the Centre for Engineering Education.
