Michael Terwey is an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling and currently serves as Director of Public Engagement and Research for the National Trust for Scotland. He oversees research strategy at the Trust and co-supervises a CDA student on a SGSSS-funded Media Tourism project.
- Previously led Collections and Exhibitions at the National Science and Media Museum (Science Museum Group), supervising CDA projects on science communication, magic lanterns, mid-20th century press photography, and WWI photographic representations.
- Research focuses on heritage interpretation, museum practice, and the history of science communication.
Affiliations & Roles:
- Co-Investigator on a £1m AHRC-funded Bradford’s National Museum project.
- Industry partner in SGSAH Knowledge Exchange Heritage Hub.
- Member of the Steering Committee for AHRC Early Career Fellowships in Cultural and Heritage Institutions.
Labs/Teams: Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy (CEHP) at the University of Stirling.
