Michael T. Schweizer

Dr. Michael T. Schweizer serves as Professor in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center and Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He also holds the position of Interim Director for the Phase 1 Clinical Trials Program at Fred Hutch, with clinical practice sites at Fred Hutch Cancer Center's South Lake Union location and UW Medical Center – Montlake.

His educational background includes:

• Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago
• Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins University
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine (2011) and Medical Oncology (2013) by the American Board of Internal Medicine

Dr. Schweizer's research centers on translational genitourinary cancer, particularly prostate cancer therapeutics. He leads innovative clinical trials exploring precision medicine approaches and novel treatments including high-dose testosterone therapy for advanced prostate cancer. His work bridges laboratory discoveries to clinical applications, focusing on reducing cancer morbidity through targeted drug development.

As Interim Director of the Phase 1 Clinical Trials Program, he oversees early-stage therapeutic evaluations that have contributed to FDA-approved treatments and global standards of care. His clinical expertise encompasses comprehensive management of genitourinary malignancies including prostate, bladder, testicular, and penile cancers.
