Evan Ya-Wen Yu

Dr. Evan Ya-Wen Yu is a Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington and holds a joint appointment as Professor in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. He serves as Medical Director for Clinical Research Support at the Fred Hutch Cancer Consortium and Clinical Research Director for Genitourinary Oncology at UW Medicine. His clinical practice spans Fred Hutch Cancer Center – South Lake Union and UW Medical Center – Montlake.

Education & Training:

• M.D. from University of Washington School of Medicine
• Residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital
• Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute
• Board Certifications: Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine (American Board of Internal Medicine)

Research Focus: Dr. Yu specializes in genitourinary malignancies (prostate, bladder, testicular cancers) with research centered on developing novel molecular targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and imaging biomarkers. He leads institutional efforts as Core Director of the Pacific Northwest Prostate Cancer SPORE and co-PI of the DoD Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Consortium.

He co-chairs the NCI Prostate Cancer Task Force, serves on the NCI Genitourinary Cancers Steering Committee, and holds senior editorial roles at Clinical Cancer Research and UroToday.
