Michael Sullivan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Western Ontario, researching industrial organization and digital market design. His work analyzes platform competition, pricing strategies, and regulatory frameworks in multi-sided markets.
Sullivan's current projects investigate fee structures in digital platforms and cross-channel retail dynamics. Before joining Western, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Business School and earned his PhD from Yale University.
His research combines theoretical modeling with empirical analysis of e-commerce platforms, examining how digital market design affects competition and consumer welfare. Sullivan will join the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business in 2025.
