Michael Steinke

Dr. Michael Steinke is a research professional at the Institute of Quantum Optics within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover. He serves in group management for the Laser Components and Fibers group and manages the Fiber drawing system facility. He is also a member of Task Group M3: Surface Polishing, Coatings and Optical Elements within the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD: Simulation, fabrication and application of optical systems.

Dr. Steinke's research focuses on advanced optical technologies with emphasis on fiber optics manufacturing, laser component development, and precision optical surface treatments. His work with the Fiber drawing system facility enables the production of specialized optical fibers critical for quantum optics research. As part of PhoenixD, he contributes to Germany's leadership in optical system development through expertise in surface polishing techniques and optical coatings that enhance performance of precision optical elements.
