Hans Jürgen Maier

Prof. Hans Jürgen Maier is the Executive Director of the Institute of Materials Science at Leibniz University Hannover, part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He holds leadership roles in multiple research initiatives, including Spokesperson of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1368 'Oxygen-free Production', Executive Board member of CRC 871 'Regeneration of Complex Capital Goods', and Team Leader of Task Group M1: Materials Task Group. He also leads the Task Group M3: Surface Polishing, Coatings, and Optical Elements. His work involves interdisciplinary projects like the Multi-Scale Methods for Interface Coupling (MUSIC) and the Leibniz Research Centre Energy 2050. He is actively involved in academic governance, serving on the Board of Directors for the HorsePower Team and contributing to the Faculty's academic working groups.
