- M.S. in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science, University of Massachusetts Lowell, 2014
His research and professional work focus on hazardous weather forecasting, data analysis for snowstorms/hurricanes, and translating technical meteorological concepts for non-scientific audiences. Souza has collaborated extensively with the National Weather Service and private forecasting firms, emphasizing real-world applications of climatology and atmospheric dynamics.
Souza's teaching philosophy centers on making meteorological science accessible, informed by his roles at the National Weather Service and Boston Marathon weather operations. He currently contributes to Framingham State University's meteorology curriculum and mentors UMass Lowell students through collaborative weather observation projects.
