Michael Snyder is the Stanford Ascherman Professor and Chair of Genetics at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and Director of the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine. He holds a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University.
His research focuses on functional genomics, multi-omics technologies, and personalized medicine. Key contributions include pioneering large-scale functional genomics projects, developing proteome chips, high-resolution tiling arrays, ChIP-seq methods, and RNA-Seq. He also launched the integrative personal omics profile (iPOP) and advanced wearable technologies for precision health monitoring.
Snyder has co-founded multiple biotechnology companies, including Personalis, SensOmics, and Qbio. His work emphasizes translating genomic insights into clinical applications, particularly through longitudinal omics profiling and home microsampling.
