Michael Sieweke

Prof. Dr. Michael Sieweke is Alexander von Humboldt Professor and Group Leader at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), Technische Universität Dresden. He maintains joint leadership of the Helmholtz-INSERM Research Unit between Centre d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (France) and Max-Delbrück Center Berlin. His career includes positions as Directeur de Recherche at CNRS, Staff Scientist at EMBL, and postdoctoral training at EMBL.

His research bridges immunology and stem cell science, focusing on:

• Molecular mechanisms of macrophage differentiation from hematopoietic stem cells
• Self-renewal capabilities of mature macrophages via embryonic stem cell gene networks
• Development of macrophage-based cellular therapies for regenerative medicine
