معرفی
Claudia Waskow is a Professor at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, working within the Faculty of Biosciences at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics. Her research focuses on immunological processes, stem cell biology, and molecular mechanisms underlying various cellular functions.
Her primary research interests include immunology, stem cell biology, hematopoiesis, epigenetics, immunodeficiencies, molecular biology, cell biology, and regenerative medicine. Dr. Waskow investigates mechanisms of homeostatic proliferation of peripheral T cells, cellular and molecular components of functional niches for hematopoietic stem cells, and treatment approaches for primary immunodeficiencies through gene-edited lymphoid progenitor cells. Her work bridges fundamental biological processes with potential clinical applications, particularly in understanding immune system development and function.
Dr. Waskow has received significant research funding through the German Research Foundation (DFG), managing both ongoing and completed projects. Her current research includes investigating the mechanisms of homeostatic proliferation of peripheral T cells in the absence of the epigenetic regulator SETD1A. Previously, she has led projects examining dendritic cell development in growth factor receptor mutant mice, functional niches for hematopoietic stem cells, and the cellular origin of osteoclasts. She has also participated in the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) and managed subprojects related to inflammatory circuits and immunogenicity prediction.
