Dr. Michael Sieh is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator for the School Administration MSE and Ed.S. programs at Wayne State College's Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership. He holds an Ed.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2009), an Ed.S. (1998) and MSE (1993) from Wayne State College, and a B.S. in Education (1988) from Wayne State College.
Prior to academia, Sieh served 19 years as superintendent of Stanton Community Schools and previously as principal at Spencer-Naper and Clearwater Public Schools. His professional roles include leadership in organizations like the Nebraska Council of School Administrators and chairmanship of the Nebraska State Accreditation Committee. He specializes in school improvement processes, having facilitated accreditation reviews for multiple districts and served as an external team leader for school improvement initiatives.
His research focuses on superintendent involvement in school improvement, reflected in his doctoral dissertation. Awards include the 2018 AdvancED Distinction of Quality Award and the C. Kelley Baker/James B. Gessford Law in Education Award. He has also completed the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement Specialist Program.
