Dr. Michael Sherry is an Associate Professor of English Education at the University of South Florida’s College of Education. He holds a BA from Princeton University and an MA/PhD from Michigan State University. His research focuses on classroom discourse dynamics, teacher response strategies, and the integration of technology in education. He leads the Student Writing Archive Project (SWAP), an online repository of student writing with teacher commentary. Sherry teaches courses on writing pedagogies, classroom communication, and English teaching methods. His recent awards include the 2024 College of Education Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Award and the Dean’s Salute to Excellence. He co-edits Writers Who Care, an online journal promoting authentic writing instruction.
