Mary Juzwik is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University's College of Education. Her research focuses on narrative processes, classroom discourse, religious literacy practices, and dialogic writing theory. She has authored influential books such as *The Rhetoric of Teaching* (2009) and co-authored *Inspiring Dialogue* (2013) and *Reading and Writing Genre with Purpose* (2012). Her work bridges narrative studies, sociolinguistics, and religious studies to explore ethical and pedagogical dimensions of literacy education.
Key research themes include religious pluralism in education, white Christian nationalism's impact on curricula, and dialogic pedagogies fostering inclusive classroom environments. Her most recent publications (2023–2025) critically examine ethno-religious nationalist literacies and their implications for educational equity. Juzwik co-edited *Narrative Discourse Analysis for Teacher Educators* (2011) and served as outgoing co-editor of *Research in the Teaching of English*.
Her academic contributions emphasize critical engagement with historical and contemporary issues in English education, blending theoretical rigor with practical classroom applications. Juzwik’s interdisciplinary approach addresses intersections between faith, literacy, and social justice in K-12 and higher education contexts.
