Stacey Britton

Dr. Stacey Britton is an Associate Professor in the Department of Early Childhood through Secondary Education at the University of West Georgia's College of Education. With a Ph.D. in Science Education from University of Georgia (2011), she specializes in preparing K-12 science teachers through innovative pedagogical approaches.

Her research centers on:

• Ecojustice frameworks for STEM education
• Online/interdisciplinary teaching methods
• Community-based environmental learning
• Integration of science across subject areas

Recent publications explore strategies for online STEM instruction and nature-based learning approaches, with consistent focus on equity and social justice. Her 2025 work examines birding clubs as science learning environments.

Dr. Britton received the 2019 Honored Instructor Award from University of Michigan for teaching excellence. She develops curricular materials for environmental education programs including Project WET, Project Learning Tree, and Project WILD.
