Michael Savoie

Dr. Michael Savoie is a Senior Lecturer in Management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He serves as Director of the Center for Information Technology and Management (CITM) and has held leadership roles in e-commerce and information technology programs since 2001. His academic preparation includes a Ph.D. in Production/Operations Management from the University of North Texas (1991), an MBA from Nicholls State University (1986), and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University (1984).

His research focuses on aligning information technology with business strategy, particularly in areas like electronic commerce, quality management, and organizational transformation. He has extensive industry experience across sectors including telecom, energy, and government, and has authored/co-authored multiple conference proceedings and publications on technological innovation and systems analysis.

Awarded Tech Titan finalist honors multiple times and recognized with the Haggar Presidential Teaching Award, Dr. Savoie has led over 200 professional presentations and workshops on topics ranging from e-business models to risk management. He currently oversees partnerships with DFW companies and manages CITM’s initiatives in enterprise systems and SAP development, supported by grants from Microsoft and ERP Solutions.

His professional certifications include Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Senior Examiner for the Louisiana Quality Award. He maintains memberships in key organizations like ASQ, INFORMS, and the Production Operations Management Society.
