Michael Rebello is the Susan C. and H. Ronald Nash Distinguished Professor and Ashbel Smith Professor of Management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas (2007–Present). He holds a D.Phil in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin (1991) and a B.A. in Economics from Stephen's College, Delhi University, India (1984). His research focuses on corporate governance, capital structure, experimental economics, and financial markets. He has authored influential papers on auction design, corporate compensation, and security analyst behavior.
Prof. Rebello has held academic positions at Tulane University (2004–2007), Georgia State University (2003–2004), and visiting roles at institutions like the Stockholm Institute for Financial Research (2004–2018). His work bridges theoretical models with real-world financial practices, leveraging experimental methods and genetic algorithms. He has received notable awards including the Trust Company of the West best paper award (2007) and J. Mack Robinson Excellence in Research award (2003).
His research portfolio demonstrates interdisciplinary strength, combining corporate finance with behavioral economics. Recent work explores dynamic governance frameworks and adaptive learning in market mechanisms. He is actively engaged in professional organizations like the American Finance Association and has advised entities such as Eiken Capital (2009–2011).
