Michael Petrou is a non-resident Research Fellow at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, focusing on historical and contemporary conflicts. He currently serves as the Historian of the Veterans’ Experience at the Canadian War Museum, leading the In Their Own Voices oral history project to document the impact of war on veterans and Canadian society.
His academic credentials include a

- Ph.D. in Modern History from the University of Oxford
He has received prestigious accolades such as the 2018 Martin Wise Goodman Canadian Nieman Fellowship at Harvard and a Chevening Scholarship at Oxford.
