Michael Paulsen

Michael Paulsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Design, Media and Educational Science of the University of Southern Denmark, leading the Centre for Understanding Human Relationships with the Environment (CUHRE) and the general didactics research group for Danish Gymnasium teacher education. Holding a Ph.D. in Social Philosophy, his work bridges conceptual development with experimental practices in Environmental and Sustainability Education.

Research Themes: Paulsen's scholarship focuses on reimagining education through life-friendly pedagogies, ecoliteracy, and Anthropocene-specific educational philosophies. His practice-oriented approach integrates theories of Bildung with experimental learning methods addressing climate change and environmental crises.
