Michael Ortiz is an Assistant Professor in the History Department at the University of Rhode Island (College of Arts and Sciences), joining in Fall 2022. He earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame (2007) and a PhD from the University of Colorado-Boulder (2017). His research interrogates European fascisms through the lens of non-Western anti-colonial resistance, linking transnational ideological conflicts to colonial power dynamics.
