Michael Nippe is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Texas A&M University, leading the Nippe Research Group. His affiliations include the Department of Chemistry and the AggieRad facility for actinide chemistry. He holds a Diploma from the Technical University of Berlin (2007) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (2011). He was awarded the 2012 ACS DIC Young Investigator Award.
His research focuses on inorganic molecular approaches for energy conversion, catalysis, and molecular magnetism. Key areas include electrocatalytic CO₂ reduction, single-molecule magnets (SMMs), heterometallic interactions, and actinide chemistry. Synthetic methods, spectroscopy, and electrochemistry are core tools in his group.
Recent publications highlight advancements in CO₂ removal via photoacids, high-performance SMMs, and quantum dot/molecular catalyst hybrids. His work bridges fundamental science and applied energy solutions. The AggieRad facility supports actinide chemistry innovations.
Dr. Nippe mentors a dynamic team of graduate students and postdocs, many of whom pursue roles in academia and industry. His lab emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge experimental techniques.
