Michael Niedeggen is a Professor in the Department of General Psychology and Neuropsychology at Freie Universität Berlin. He studied psychology at the University of Düsseldorf, earned his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat., magna cum laude), and completed his habilitation there. His academic career includes roles at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and Freie Universität Berlin, where he became a W2-Professor in 2008. He teaches courses in cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, and neurocognitive methods.

His recent publications analyze social exclusion signals, cross-modal interference, and aging-related cognitive changes. He has contributed to book chapters on visual perception disorders and co-authored test manuals for neuropsychological assessments. Niedeggen serves on academic committees and has reviewed for organizations like the DFG and MRC.
