معرفی
Bernhard Loll is a Researcher and Project Leader in the Wahl Group - Structural Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin, affiliated with the College of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He holds a Habilitation in Biochemistry (2014) and a PhD summa cum laude (2005), both from Freie Universität Berlin. As Erasmus coordinator, he oversees international collaborations.
Education:
- 2014: Habilitation (venia legendi) in Biochemistry
- 2005: PhD in Biochemistry (summa cum laude)
- 1999: Diplom in Chemistry
- 1994-1999: Studies in Chemistry at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg
Research: Focuses on structural biochemistry and biocatalysis, particularly terpene cyclases. His work integrates structural biology (X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM) with enzyme engineering to design novel biocatalysts for white biotechnology. Key areas include terpene biosynthesis pathways and protein dynamics.
Awards:
- GE & Science Prize for Young Life Scientists (2006)
- Dr. rer. nat. summa cum laude (2005)
Collaborations: Partners with institutions like TU München, Charité Berlin, and international universities in Israel, Pakistan, and Austria. Active in editorial roles for Marine Drugs and Molecules.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Structural Biocatalysis group in the Wahl Group, advancing structural and mechanistic studies of enzymes.
