Michael Minor is an Instructor II at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Social Work and an Adjunct Fellow at St. John's College. His academic background includes a PhD in English from the University of Manitoba (2016), an MA in English from Memorial University (2011), and a BA from Trent University (2008).
Minor's work bridges literary studies and social work, focusing on resistance to settler-colonial violence through critical analysis of literatures. He explores how humanities perspectives can inform social work practice and decolonization approaches.
As a poet and author of Learning to Love a River, he incorporates creative methodologies into his academic work. Minor teaches in the Inner City Social Work Program, bringing interdisciplinary perspectives to social work education.
