Dr. Michael Mindzak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University's Faculty of Education. He holds a PhD from Western University and specializes in educational leadership, policy, and the sociology of educational work. His research explores intersections between education, technology, and labor in contemporary society.
Research interests include educational reform, technology's role in education, and the sociological implications of educational labor. He is an active contributor to professional organizations such as the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) and is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
Recent work focuses on AI's impact on academia, including issues of academic integrity and AI-generated text detection. He teaches courses like 'Schooling, Education and Society' (EDUC 3P70) and 'Power, Policy & Politics in Education' (EDUC 5P62), emphasizing socio-political dimensions of education.
